After its theatrical release on October 11, Sharoter Joba, a Bengali supernatural thriller, is set to debut on the OTT platform iScreen on December 12 at 3 PM. Directed, scripted, and produced by actress Kusum Sikder, the film received critical acclaim despite limited box office turnout.

From Theaters to Streaming

To watch the film on iScreen, audiences will need a subscription priced at BDT 20. Kusum Sikder expressed her optimism about reaching a global audience through OTT, saying, “Theater audiences were limited during the release, but the response exceeded my expectations. This is my favorite story, and now it’s accessible to those who missed it in theaters.”

Adaptation of a Beloved Book

The movie is based on Sikder’s book Ajagatik Chhaya, with production handled by Impress Telefilm and Pohordanga Pictures. The story revolves around a solitary woman, Joba, whose life is shrouded in mystery, untold pain, and unexpected deaths. It keeps audiences questioning whether Joba is a killer or if an unseen force is at play.

Cast and Reception

Alongside Kusum Sikder, the cast includes Jitu Ahsan, Yash Rohan, Nidra De Neha, Naresh Bhuiyan, and Shahidul Alam Sachchu. The film's intricate storyline and haunting atmosphere earned it praise from critics, and the OTT release aims to expand its viewership.

This digital premiere marks another milestone for Bengali cinema’s evolution in the streaming era.
